For my tutorials I use PSP 9

Supplies needed

Tube of choice
I am using artwork by Keith Garvey. You can purchase this tube from PSP Tubes Emporium
Texture of choice - you can find plenty by searching on DeviantArt
Spin Sparkle Animation by Kris you can get this here
Fonts of choice - I am using Asuka Caps SSK and Carpenter
Animation by me which you can find on my tag template blog here
You want the raydotsburst animation

Filters

VanDerLee-Unplugged X-pattern offset
Filter Factory Gallery B-Sliding Spirals - please do not use my settings in your tutorials try to come up with your own ;)
Alien Skin-Xenofex 2-consellation-settings of choice
Penta.com-color dot
Adjust-Variations

This is a long tutorial so don't forget to save often!

Let's get started

New Canvas 660 x 240 - set your foreground colour to #ffffff and background colour to #d22c34
Click on the foreground colour to bring up the materials tab
Select the gradient tab-use the following settings



Flood fill your canvas with this gradient
Bring up the materials properties again
Use the following settings



New raster layer-flood fill with this gradient-change the blend mode to screen
Open up your texture of choice-colourize it if necessary
Copy and paste this onto your canvas
Lower the opacity to around 74

Open up your tube of choice-arrange as below



Close off the tube layers to the far left the 2 flood filled gradient layers and texture layer
Merge visible the tube layers-reopen the closed layers
On the merged tube layer-duplicate-on the duplicated layer
Adjust-blur-gaussian blur-radius 3.00
Change the blend mode to screen also on the original merged tube layer
Depending on what tube and texture you are using it may not look right to you
So just play about with the different blend modes until you get something you like

Select the duplicated tube layer
Effects-plugins-VanDerLee-Unplugged X-Pattern Offset-use the following settings then hit ok


Repeat the above for you tube layers on the left of your canvas

Copy and paste your tube of choice-arrange where desired
Duplicate this layer-adjust-blur-gaussian blur-radius 3.00
Change the blend mode to soft light-duplicate this layer
Change the blend mode to screen then lower the opacity to around 90
Again depending on what tube you are using if it doesnt look right
Just play about with the blend modes
Make sure you are on the tube layer we added the blend mode screen to
Effects-Variations-select more magenta then hit ok
Repeat

We are now going to add some circle wording
Set your foreground to colour of choice-doesn't matter what colour as we will be deleting this later
Background set to null-preset shape-ellipse-whilst holding down shift
Draw out a circle just abit smaller than your banner height
Do not convert to raster-new raster layer
Using a font of choice-I am using Asuka Caps SSK-size around 24
Change your background colour to #d22c34 or to match your tube
Foreground set to null- you can alternate the colour of your words if you wish
With the text tool selected-hoover over the circle we just did
You should see the text tool with a curve-click to bring up the text tool box
Add the text 'Sexy Angel' repeately or any wording of choice
Keep repeating until the circle is covered with your wording
It may overlap some but this doesn't matter as the wording circle will be behind your main tube
Once happy on the circle wording layer-convert to raster layer
Delete the vector circle layer we did earlier
Arrange the circle wording as above-just peeping out from behind your tube
Once happy with the placement-duplicate this layer-resize by 80%
Arrange in the center of the original wording
Repeat a couple of times-see above for placement<
Add drop shadow to each of your wording layers

Add any other wording to your banner-see my banner above

Select the very last layer on your canvas
Selections-select all-selections-float-selections-defloat
Selections-modify-select selection borders-use the following settings



New raster layer-flood fill with #d22c34-selections-select none
Move this layer to the very top
Repeat the above but change the border width to 8
New raster layer then flood fill with #ffffff-selections-select none
Move this layer just below the first border we did
Add a drop shadow of 1, 1, 20, 2.00 black
Select the first border layer we did
Effects-plugins-penta.com-color dot-default settings-click ok

Now you can add your name using a font of choice-I am using Carpenter
Also now is the time to credit your tag and add proper artist info

Now let's begin animating it

Close off the following layers-main tube layers, your name layer, cr info and the borders
Select the duplicated merged tube layer-that is on the right of your canvas
You will now see why we didn't merge the tube to the far left with the rest
As we only want the animation on the right side of your banner
Effects-Filter Factory Gallery B-Sliding Spirals-use the following settings



Edit-copy merged
Open up Animation Shop
Paste as new animation-back to PSP and hit undo
Repeat the above sliding spirals settings except move the rotation up by around 20
Edit-copy merged
Back to AS-paste after current frame
Back to PSP-hit undo
Again repeat the above sliding spirals settings except move the rotation up by around 20
Back to AS-paste after current frame
Back to PSP-repeat the above another 11 times for a total of 13 frames in animation shop
Each time keep moving the rotation up by around 20-don't forget that part!

In Animation shop you will now have 13 frames-edit-select all
Open up my animation-you will see it has 13 frames also
Edit-select all-edit-copy-back to your banner frames
Edit-paste into selected frame
Arrange my animation in the center of the circle wording
Once happy with the placement-test out your animation
You should have animated the sliding spirals and have my animation in your banner

Back to PSP-close off all the layers and reopen the main tube layers, your name layer, cr info and the borders
Select the white border layer-Alien Skin-Xenofex 2-consellation-settings of choice
Edit-copy merged-back to AS-paste as new animation
Back to PSP-hit undo-consellation-settings of choice but hit random
Edit-copy merged-back to AS-paste after current frame
Repeat the above until you have 13 frames in AS
On these frames-edit-select all-edit-copy
On your main banner frames-edit-paste into selected frame
Arrange this so the border covers your banner correctly

Then test your animation and it should look like mine above!

You can now save it as .gif

Now its time to make your avatar

Back to PSP-new canvas 150 x 150-edit and be sure all your layers on your banner are open then copy merged your banner
Paste this onto your avatar canvas
Arrange and place where desired

Now we are going to add the borders-see the above tut for adding the borders as its about the same<

Using a font of choice-add your name and any cr info

Now to animate
Select the white border frame-Alien Skin-Xenofex 2-consellation-settings of choice
Edit-copy merged-over to AS-paste as new animation
Back to PSP-hit undo-repeat your consellation settings but hit random
Back to AS-paste after current frame
Return to PSP-repeat the above for another 4 times so you will have 6 frames in AS
In AS-edit-select all-open up the Kris animation supplied
Edit-select all-edit-copy-on your avatar frames-edit-paste into selected frame
Arrange where desired-test your avatar-once happy you may save as .gif
